BioBuilder Educational Foundation | Non-profit | Online | More →
BioBuilder converts biological engineering research into hands-on laboratory content and novel problem-based learning modules that can be implemented by high school students and their teachers. Established from MIT’s Dept of BE and with National Science Foundation support, BioBuilder’s accessible curriculum has made a substantial impact on secondary and post-secondary life-science education, impacting teachers and students in nearly every state and more than 30 countries.

The TA will assist students with topics in synthetic biology, computational and visualization techniques for biodesign, and the project design process. Work will require the TA to:
●Review and provide feedback to participants on assignments through Canvas platform;
●Meet virtually with teams to guide and assist participants through project design framework;
●Provide feedback on presentation and white paper drafts;
●Collaborate with Instructors on planning and curriculum as needed
●Graduate student or post-doc in biological engineering
●Background in basic stats and coding (preferably RStudio)
●A strong desire to teach
●The ideal candidate will have some familiarity with BioBuilder curriculum and labs, or iGEM
