Postdoctoral Researchers at the National Institute of Standards and Technology National Research Council Research Associateship Award
National Institute of Standards and Technology National Research Council Research Associateship Award (NIST NRC RAP)
The Cellular Engineering Group at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, Maryland, invites applications for postdoctoral researchers as part of its growing investments in living measurement systems.
We are recruiting applicants for experimental and theoretical research to advance control and rational design for engineering biology. Of particular interest is the development of new approaches to measure, understand, predict, and control information, learning, function, and evolution across the spatial and temporal scales of biological organization, although related ideas in other topics are welcome. We are seeking independent, eloquent, and motivated individuals with backgrounds across the physical, engineering, chemical, and biological disciplines to contribute to this collaborative, interdisciplinary Team. Facilities include state of the art systems for automated microbial engineering, culture, and measurement, synthetic biology, single molecule techniques, and cleanroom fabrication and characterization.
Applicants are encouraged to contact Elizabeth Strychalski directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The two year appointment provides an annual stipend of $71,128 (plus benefits and $3,000 travel stipend). U.S. citizenship and Selective Service registration are required. The Department of Commerce is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
